THE PURPOSE
The purpose of Future Legends USATM is to find
and promote the legend bands of the future and
provide the mechanism to give them immediate
national exposure through television. We will
discover and produce twelve bands that are
ready to take on the world. These bands will have:
Signature Original songs
World Class Musicianship
Uniqueness
Charisma
Unstoppable drive
This combined with legendary music talent
that will perform on each television episode
will provide the viewing public with an
unforgettable entertainment experience.
THE PREMISE
In past decades, legend bands had a profound
effect on American society and touched millions
of fans, who remember every lyric and guitar lick
of their favorite songs to this day. Those bands
continue to influence new generations as well,
and are an inspiration for future legend bands
that already show signs of starquality, and have
something to say musically, lyrically and culturally.
Who knows who the next Led Zeppelin, Santana,
Doors, or Alabama might be?
WHAT IS UNIQUE ABOUT THIS PROJECT
Cross-generationalTThe beauty of the
Future Legends USA TM concept is that it iscrossgenerational, creating excitement among
the very young all the way through the baby
boomer generation. There are great bands out
there right now, across all walks of life and society,
who have built their futures on the music of their
own parents, and even grandparents and applied
these time tested sounds to their own musical
creativity. That’s the kind of staying power great
music has!
There are young (in some cases very, very young)
bands that are truly gifted, committed and innovative.
We intend to discover them, put them in front of a
national television audience, and have them share the
stage with the world’s great music legends. That means
that the show also has strong appeal for the huge
population of “boomers” (now with discretionary time and
money) who grew up with the performers who built popular
music, and who still love it.
There’s a good reason for that:
The music of that generation was extraordinary – a
renaissance of sorts – rich in variety, substance, and
totally tuned in to the culture of its day.
Cross-genre
Recognizing the diversity of our American musical
heritage (and that typifies popular music today) we
are looking for exceptional bands, from all walks of
American life, regardless of the type of music they
perform. Our goal is to bring the true talent into the
spotlight and give them the opportunity to show
America how they can perform. This creates a much
broader audience, and fuels a lively and fun competitive
spirit among supporters of many kinds of music.
Discovery, not competition
This isn’t a gimmick, it’s not about the judges, and it’s
not about competition. This is about the bands themselves,
chosen by music professionals, who know just how good
you have to be to make it to the top. This project is about
taking the music and the musicians seriously, and providing
truly memorable entertainment that could launch the next
generation of legend bands.
AND THERE IS MORE
Future Legends USA is about the bands. Future Legends USA
is also about a completely rounded form of television entertainment.
Along with the discovery of the legend bands of the future, this
program will feature the showcasing of legend bands of the past,
guest appearances by worldwide notables and entertainers, and a
special feature in support of a very well known and deserving
charitable organization. Additionally, Future Legends USA will utilize
a special feature where legend entertainers from previous years who
have passed away will be reunited with the surviving members of their
original band and the viewing audience will once again have the
opportunity to enjoy the signature talent that took these bands to
greatness.
THE CONCEPT IS TESTED
We are confident that the interest is there. Our Website test
pulled 68,000 hits per day by the fourth day. Web (and mobile Web)
presence is a key marketing tool, but we believe it should be paired
with radio, television, mobile media, street and word-of-mouth
campaigns to create the environment for a tipping point to occur.
With multiple revenue streams built into the plan, there is a solid
foundation for financial success.
THE PROJECT IS READY
This is not a concept but a project that is ready – 24 months of
work has already been applied to the development. In short, we
have a unique project, a well thought-out plan, the expertise, and
a deep commitment to do the work necessary to see this project
through.
